Azerbaijan's Finance Ministry to cut funds for public debt in 2022

Azerbaijan’s Finance Ministry will decrease allocations to service the country’s public debt and obligations in 2022, Trend reports on Sept.9 citing the ministry.

According to the ministry, this indicator will amount to 1.91 billion manat ($1.12 billion), down by 13 percent compared to 2021 (2.16 billion manat or $1.27 billion).

The funds aimed for servicing the public debt and obligations of Azerbaijan in 2022 amount to 6.6 percent of the projected state budget expenses (28.9 billion manat or $17 billion).

The projected revenues of the Azerbaijani state budget for 2021 will make up 25.43 billion manat or $14.97 billion (increase of 5.4 percent compared to 2020), and expenses - 28.54 billion manat or $16.8 billion (growth of 3.8 percent).

Thus, the state budget deficit will amount to 3.12 billion manat ($1.84 billion), which is 4.1 percent of GDP.
