Some 2.9 billion manat ($1.7 billion) accounted for the loans issued in the trade and service sector in Azerbaijan in 2021, which is by 14.7 percent more than in 2020, Trend reports referring to the statistics report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the report, 967.5 million manat ($569.1 million) accounted for the short-term loans issued to legal entities in this sector. At the same time, 566.5 million manat ($333.2 million) accounted for the loans in national currency while 401 million manat ($235.9 million) - in foreign currency.
Long-term loans worth 2.01 billion manat ($1.2 billion) were issued to legal entities in this sector. The loans worth 1.4 billion manat ($823 million) were issued in the national currency while 625.6 million manat ($368 million) - were in foreign currency.
The share of loans issued in trade and services sector in lending to the real sector of the economy reached 17.5 percent, having increased by 0.4 percentage points for the year.
