Iran’s CBI announces amount of loans issued for housing, construction sector

Banks in Iran issued loans worth 1.25 quadrillion rials (about $29.8 billion) in the housing and construction sector, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 265 trillion rials (about $6.32 billion) worth of loans were issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within 10 months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 382 trillion rials (about $9.1 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 242 trillion rials (about $5.75 billion) worth of loans were issued for repair work and 78.5 trillion rials (about $1.87 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 117 billion rials (about $2.78 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 265 trillion rials (about $6.3 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 19.2 trillion rials (about $456 million) for other purposes.

The Iranian banks issued loans worth about 22.9 quadrillion rials (about $546 billion) in various economic sectors in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year. The figure stood at 8.55 quadrillion rials (about $204 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
