BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Banks in Iran issued loans worth 1.45 quadrillion rials (about $34.4 billion) in the housing and construction sector, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 323 trillion rials (about $7.68 billion) worth of loans were issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within 11 months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 422 trillion rials (about $10 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 278 trillion rials (about $6.63 billion) worth of loans were issued for repair work and 85.2 trillion rials (about $2.03 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 169 billion rials (about $4.02 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 313 trillion rials (about $7.45 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 23.3 trillion rials (about $556 million) for other purposes.

The Iranian banks issued loans worth about 25.4 quadrillion rials (about $606 billion) in various economic sectors in the first 11 months of the current Iranian year. The figure stood at 9 quadrillion rials (about $215 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
