BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The state budget expenditures in the first quarter of 2022 played an important role in supporting domestic demand in Azerbaijan, Trend reports via the monetary policy review of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 5.6 billion manat ($3.3 billion), up by 1.9 percent on an annual basis.
The bank said that 2.7 billion manat or $1.6 billion (49.3 percent) of the state budget expenditures was directed to finance social expenses (wage fund, scholarships and social benefits, expenditures on medicines and food), which is an increase of 4.6 percent over the year.
Investments in the Azerbaijani economy in the first quarter of this year amounted to 2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion). In total, 62.5 percent of the investments fell on the public, while 37.5 percent - on the private sector.
