BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 52.5 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran.

The statistics show that families spent an average of 52.5 percent more on products and services in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The monthly increase in prices on food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 81.6 percent in the third month, while in the non-food and services sector was 36.8 percent, according to the statistics.

Within the 3rd month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 51.4 percent. This is 12.2 percent more than in the same month last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 58.2 percent for the third month. This is an increase of 18.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.

According to the statistics, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 3rd month increased by 13.2 percent, compared to the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022).

Whereas, the annual inflation rate in the country (June 22, 2021 through June 21, 2022) was 39.4 percent. This is an increase of 0.7 percent compared to the previous period (June 21, 2020, through June 21, 2021).

At the end of the 3rd month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 38.9 percent in Iranian cities, while - 41.8 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 0.6 percent in cities and 1 percent in villages, compared to the previous period.
