BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. Banks in Iran issued loans worth 1.79 quadrillion rials (about $42.7 billion) in the housing and construction sector, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through December 21, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 875 trillion rials (about $20.8 billion) worth of loans were issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within 9 months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 771 trillion rials (about $18.3 billion) as working capital in this sector for the reporting period.

Over 9 months, 49.3 trillion rials (about $1.17 billion) worth of loans were issued for development work in the housing and construction sector, as well as 1.03 trillion rials ($24.5 million) for self-employment.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 15.7 trillion rials (about $375 million) for the purchase of housing in the housing and construction sector, and 82 trillion rials (about $1.95 billion) for repair work.

Generally, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 25 quadrillion rials (about $595 billion) in various economic sectors in the country during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year.
