ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 17. The total profit of credit institutions of Turkmenistan increased by 1.7 percent from January through June 2022, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan Toyly Myalikov at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 14, 2023.
According to him, during the specified period, the total balance of loans issued by banks increased by 5.1 percent compared to the first 6 months of last year, and by 13.8 percent in the non–state sector.
Furthermore, he noted that to individuals in the structure of the private segment of the economy, the total balance of loans issued by banks increased by 19.5 percent, to agricultural producers – by 15 percent and mortgage loans – by 7.4 percent.
Meanwhile, the government meeting summed up the results of work in the economic sphere for the first quarter of 2022, identified priority tasks of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for this year and considered a number of other issues.
