BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. Iranian banks issued loans worth 330 trillion rials (about $7.87 billion) in the agricultural sector of the country during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), Trend reports.
As reflected in the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), 87.9 trillion rials (about $2.09 billion) of the mentioned amount were issued for the establishment of enterprises and the planting of gardens and arable lands in the agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, approximately 202 trillion rials (about $4.8 billion) worth of loans were issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.
The loans, worth 32.3 trillion rials (about $770 million), were issued for the development of Iran's agricultural sector for 3 months.
Also, 7.38 trillion rials ($176 million) worth of loans were issued for self-employment in the agricultural sector, 9 billion rials (about $214,000) for repairs, 94 billion rials (about $2.24 million) for the purchase of housing, and 715 billion rials (about $17 million) for p therchase of personal assets.
In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 7.85 quadrillion rials (about $187 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 3 months of the current Iranian year.
