ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 21. The total budget of Turkmenistan for 2024 is expected to increase by 12.8 percent compared to this year, Trend reports.
According to Turkmenistan's Ministry of Finance and Economy, social expenditures in the country's main budget are set at 77.3 percent, with 36.6 percent going to education, 13.5 percent going to health care, 2.9 percent going to culture, 37.8 percent going to state social security, and 9.2 percent going to housing and communal services.
At the same time, the budget of Ashgabat city is predicted to be 10.8 percent more than in 2023, the Ahal area - 7.1 percent, the Balkan region - 9.5 percent, the Dashoguz region - 9.4 percent, the Lebap region - 9.2 percent, and the Mary region - 8.1 percent.
Of the money earmarked for the economic sector, 67.8 percent will go toward the construction of manufacturing facilities, while 32.2 percent would go toward non-production facilities.
Meanwhile, the state budget in Turkmenistan plays a key role in supporting initiatives, providing financing for the diverse development of various industries, as well as improving social infrastructure, including education, health care and housing, in order to improve the quality of life of citizens and stimulate sustainable economic growth.
