New Director General of Cisco Systems' Russian office appointed

Pavel Betsis has been appointed the new Director General of Cisco Systems OJSC (Cisco's Russia office), head of the Cisco Systems OJSC press-service, Alexander Palladin, told Trend .

Betsis replaced Robert Aji, who headed Cisco in Russia for the last 12 years. At present, he is Cisco Vice-President on Business Development. He works as an advisor on strategy of corporative council on investments and programs in Russia.

47-year-old Betsis is from Ukraine. He has been working in the IT-industry since 1985 when he began to work in the company IBM. He has acquired rich work experience in key spheres of the IT-industry thanks to cooperation with big corporations, including IT companies in Canada, the USA, Austria, Italy, Holland and several Asian countries. He graduated from the University of Toronto. He has also has a degree in Administrative Management from Harvard University.

Palladin said that Betsis and Aji will work under the direct leadership of Cisco Senior Vice-President for the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe and the Persian Gulf, Duncan Mitchell.

Cisco registered as a legal entity named Cisco Systems OJSC when it established its office in Russia 12 years ago in January 2007. The company has received more than 420 certificates from the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control for its products for network security.

It has certified local production of a wide range of its products, formed a wide number of partners and customers in Russia, created 13 rapidly growing equipment warehouses and set up the a round-the-clock center to handle bids and technical maintenance, which provides telephone consultations in Russian.

Cisco's subsidiary is the financial company Cisco Capital. It founded Cisco Capital CIS OJSC in 2008 and assists enterprises and organizations in buying modern technological products.
