Uzbekistan’s UzAuto Motors begins selling cars in export markets under the Chevrolet brand from March 2020 in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, Trend reports with reference to UzAuto Motors company.
The corresponding agreement, which was reached between UzAuto Motors and its alliance partner General Motors, symbolizes the beginning of a new stage in the history of Uzbek car sales abroad, said the company.
The right to use Chevrolet brand in foreign markets has been granted to the domestic manufacturer due to the achieved high quality of cars, which fully meets the standards set by General Motors Company, one of the leaders of the world auto industry.
This agreement will allow UzAuto Motors to increase sales in export markets as effectively as the company already has done the domestic market of Uzbekistan.
UzAuto Motors will manage sales of Chevrolet models in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The distribution network will be based on a number of current General Motors Russia dealers, some existing Ravon distributors and authorized Chevrolet service centers, taking into account their geographical location and the degree of compliance with Chevrolet brand standards.
Working under a single brand will open up new opportunities for further development of the automotive industry in Uzbekistan and sales in export markets.
Existing Chevrolet customers who have purchased cars from GM/Chevrolet dealers in Russia by the end of 2015 can be assured that authorized GM Motors Russia service centers will continue to provide services.
The customers who purchased Ravon cars will be able to continue to receive services at authorized UzAuto Motors service centers.
For the customers who have purchased UzAuto Motors' Chevrolet Spark, Nexia and Cobalt cars, the warranty will remain, as well as service and spare parts sales will be provided by UzAuto Motors through its dealer network.
GM provides quality consulting and production support to the activities of UzAuto Motors, contributing to the implementation of development projects of the largest automotive company in Uzbekistan, including those in foreign markets. This is evidenced by the beginning of sales abroad of Spark, Nexia and Cobalt models under Chevrolet brand.
Sales of cars under Ravon brand in Russia and other CIS countries will stop by mid-2020.
