Kazakhstan’s revenue from railway cargo transportation up year-on-year

Kazakhstan’s revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via railway transportation amounted to 434.9 billion tenge ($1.05 billion) over 1H2020, which is 6.1 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via railway transportation in Jun. 2020 amounted to 78 billion tenge ($32.1 billion), which is 12.2 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via railway transport during the reporting period amounted to 196.5 million tons, which is 2.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year (32.4 million tons in Jun. 2020, down by 0.8 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 143.09 billion ton-kilometers which is 4.2 percent more than during the same period of last year (24.2 billion in Jun. 2020, increase of 8 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 24.6 billion tenge ($59.6 million) over 1H2020, which is 51.7 percent less than during the same period of last year. June’s revenue from passenger transportation was 3.7 billion tenge ($9.01 million), which is 59.2 percent less than in Jun. 2019.

Number of transported passengers amounted to 5.8 million people, which is 44.2 percent less than during the same period of last year (826,350 passengers in Jun. 2020, down by 55.5 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 4.3 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease by 49 percent. June’s passenger turnover was 613.5 million (61.7 percent decrease year-on-year).
