Iran shares data on cargo movements in Imam Khomeini port

A total of 3.78 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 23 through December 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, of this, 2 million tons were loaded, 1.78 million tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, in the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2021), the figure stood at 3.75 million tons.

“Also, 1.7 million tons of cargo were exported and 1.62 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port over the 9th month. At the same time, 141,000 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit,” the statistics said.

Within the ninth month, 114,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 132,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

According to the statistics, 6,590 tons of cargo were loaded 6,670 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment. Furthermore, 39,100 tons of cargo were loaded, and 8,920 tons were unloaded for other purposes.

So, 1.5 million tons of essential products, 193,000 tons of metal products, 347,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,330 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 253,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 93,300 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 147,000 tons of container products, 1.24 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the ninth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.28 million tons were loaded and 5.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 8.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
