BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 14.7 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 6.31 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 1st month. Of this, about 3.2 million tons were loaded and 3.11 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, about 2.67 million tons of cargo were exported, while 997,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 1st month.
Also, 180,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 315,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month.
According to the statistics, 174,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.64 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 1st month.
In the 1st month, over 168,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 129,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 1,280 tons of cargo were loaded, and 31,800 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Thus, over 306,000 tons of essential products, 627,000 tons of metal products, about 678,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,650 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, about 209,000 tons of chemicals, 2,480 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 60,300 tons of small and assorted products, 1.66 million tons of container products, 2.77 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
