BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 0.14 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 6.33 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 2nd month. Of this, about 3.48 million tons were loaded and 2.85 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, about 2.88 million tons of cargo were exported, while 920,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 2nd month.
Also, 203,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 402,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month.
According to the statistics, 233,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.34 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 2nd month.
In the 2nd month, over 162,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 153,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 2,320 tons of cargo were loaded, and 30,800 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Thus, over 282,000 tons of essential products, 640,000 tons of metal products, about 978,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,310 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, about 90,800 tons of chemicals, 3,590 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 67,900 tons of small and assorted products, 1.8 million tons of container products, 2.46 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
