TEHRAN, Iran, June 20. Iran Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company is in talks to purchase new ships for transit in the Caspian Sea, Davood Tafti the Managing Director of Khazar Sea Shipping Lines company told Trend.
He pointed out that Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company has signed a contract with SADRA Shipbuilding Company to purchase two 3500-ton general cargo ships.
He went on to say that this is the first time that SADRA is building ships on this scale and the manufacturing process will open up 200 new jobs.
According to the official, Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company has also been in talks with Russia to buy new ships, and the contract should be signed soon.
The company is also negotiating to buy two tankers from Russia and bargaining for a standard price, considering the decline in the value of the ruble.
