BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 43.3 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Overall, 6.44 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 8th month. Of this, 3.47 million tons were loaded and 2.97 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, 3.07 million tons of cargo were exported, and about 831,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 8th month.
Also, 98,500 tons of cargo were loaded and about 356,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month. Furthermore, 157,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.61 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 8th month.
Within the 8th month, 141,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 138,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 1,880 tons of cargo were loaded, and 37,000 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 156,000 tons of essential products, about 588,000 tons of metal products, 1.1 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,270 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 110,000 tons of chemicals, 10,900 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 54,400 tons of small and assorted products, 1.76 million tons of container products, and about 2.65 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
