BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. More than 2.86 million tons of essential products were unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in Hormozgan Province in the south of the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Director General of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Hossein Abbasnejad told reporters, Trend reports via IRNA.

Abbasnejad said that the main essential products unloaded at the port were wheat, barley, cooking oil, etc. He added that the mentioned products were unloaded from 54 ships.

The director general noted that of the total volume, 1.56 million tons accounted for wheat.

According to him, currently, 2 ships with 117,000 tons of wheat and barley are being unloaded at Shahid Rajaee port.

“In addition, three more ships are currently waiting to be unloaded at the port. These ships have a total cargo of 209,000 tons of wheat,” Abbasnejad pointed out.

Iran's Shahid Rajaee port has an area of 3,400 hectares. This port has the capacity to receive 88 million tons of cargo per year.
