BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16. This week, it became known that the total volume of rail traffic between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan exceeded three million tons in 2022, which is four times more than in 2021, Trend reports.
The volume of exports to Azerbaijan and transit through the country increased sevenfold, to 2.7 million tons. There is also an increase in the volume of grain transportation and mining products.
In addition, the volume of cargo transported between the countries increased by 40 percent in the first quarter of this year.
Furthermore, it became known that Azerbaijan Railways CJSC has ensured the purchase and delivery of 303 platform wagons and 18 railcars to Azerbaijan.
Also, it was noted that Azerbaijan Railways transported 4.4 million tons of cargo in the first quarter of this year, which is 17 percent more than in the same period last year.
Moreover, the Russian IrAero airline is going to launch direct flights from Perm to Baku since May 30. The flights will be operated by the IrAero airline on Superjet aircraft, which can accommodate about 100 passengers.
It was also reported that Azerbaijan Railways is going to increase the number of trips from Baku to Aghstafa since April 21 in connection with the Ramadan holiday.
The additional trip will depart from Baku at 08:25 (GMT+4) with arrival in Aghstafa at 13:20 (GMT+4).
