President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has reorganized a number of ministries, the official website of the Kazakh President said today.

"To abolish ministry of communications and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan with transfer of its functions and powers: in the fields of information, records and documentation - to the ministry of culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan; in the fields of communications, informatization, control over automation of public services and coordination of activities of centers of population service - to the ministry of transport and communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the order of the head of the state said on Friday.

The ministry of culture is transformed into the ministry of culture and information, the ministry of tourism and sport - in the agency for sport and physical culture with transfer of functions and powers in tourism activities to the ministry of industry and new technology.

The Kazakh government is instructed to ensure redistribution of staff level of reorganized and abolished state structures.

New Majilis elected on Jan.15 expressed its confidence to the cabinet of ministers led by Prime Minister Karim Masimov.

Snap elections to Majilis were held in Kazakhstan on Jan.15. Three parties - Nur Otan, (83 MPs), Ak Zhol (8 MPs) and the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan joined the parliament.

There are 107 seats in Majilis: 98 MPs are elected by party lists, and 9 people are sent by the Kazakh People's Assembly (consultative body under the president).
