Istanbul to host Kazakh-Turkish business forum

Istanbul will host a Kazakh-Turkish business forum on Dec.20, Kazakhstan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry said on Dec.18.

Representatives of business circles, as well as officials will discuss cooperation opportunities in machine building, agriculture, mining and metallurgical sector, energy, medicine and pharmacy, while presenting investment opportunities in both countries," Kazakhstan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.

Deputy Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Tasbergenov and Vice-President of Kazakhstan's Chamber of Commerce, Ayan Erenov, as well as the Managing Director of the KAZNEX INVEST National Export and Investment Agency Nurken Berkinbayev will be speakers at the business forum. During the event there will also be bilateral meetings between representatives of Kazakh and Turkish companies.

Turkey is one of the important trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan.

The volume of bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to $3.5 billion in 2012 and $2.6 billion from January to September 2013, according to Kazakhstan's Statistics Agency.

Kazakh-Turkish intergovernmental economic commission is the effective mechanism for expanding trade and economic relations between the two countries.
