BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. The volume of petroleum products manufacturing in Kazakhstan amounted to 11.1 million tons or 107.8 percent from January through September 2022 compared to the same period last year, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov said during the governmental meeting, Trend reports citing the Kazakh government.
Thus, the volume of oil refining and manufacturing of petroleum products have increased, including:
- motor gasoline - 3.7 million tons or 105.9 percent;
- diesel fuel - 4 million tons or 108.3 percent;
- aviation fuel - 517 thousand tons or 119.1 percent;
- fuel oil - 2.1 million tons or 117.3 percent.
He also informed on the volume of bitumen production from January through September of this year, which amounted to 707,000 tons of bitumen, or 87.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to Akchulakov, the main reason for the decline in production is due to the high price of bitumen at Qazaq Bitum LLP. Due to expensive imported raw materials, the price of bitumen is two times higher compared to other manufacturers.
The volume of petrochemical products amounted to 195,500 tons from January through September 2022, which is 1.5 times more than the same period last year.
During the reporting period, the electric power industry generated 82.7 billion kWh of electricity, while consuming 82.6 billion kWh.
He said that compared to last year, there is a decrease in electricity generation by 1.3 percent, which is due to a decrease in consumption.
