Kazakhstan’s Air Astana to increase amount of flights

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Kazakhstan’s “Air Astana” will increase the number of international flights as a part of the transition to the spring-summer flight schedule, which will last until 29 October 2023, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

During this period Air Astana will carry out four flights from Almaty to Baku, Azerbaijan each week. Additional four flights will be carried out in the direction of Dushanbe, Tajikistan on a weekly basis.

Meanwhile, the weekly number of flights from Almaty to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan will increase to nine. Also, Air Astana will service 19 flights per week to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The number of flights to Türkiye will amount to 28 per week. Some 11 flights will be carried out from Almaty to Istanbul, while the number of flights from Astana and Atyrau to Istanbul will reach seven and three, respectively. Additionally, 10 flights from Almaty will be carried out to Antalya, and seven flights from Astana to Antalya.

The company also revealed that the number of flights to Georgia, the UK, and China will also increase as a part of a spring-summer flight schedule.

Air Astana is one of the major airline companies in Kazakhstan. The company served 7.35 million passengers in 2022, an increase of 11 percent, compared to 2021. Earlier, it was reported that the company registered a 44 percent increase in customers compared to 2019, the last the pre-pandemic year.
