BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. In Kazakhstan, it is necessary to work out the transparency of the market mechanism for the sale of fuel using digital solutions based on the experience of the past heating season, PM Alikhan Smailov said at a government meeting, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
He noted that such an approach would ensure order in trade, an even distribution of coal among consumers and would eliminate conditions for unjustified price increases during peak periods.
Furthermore, at the meeting, the participants discussed the development of promising gas and gas condensate fields, measures to provide production enterprises with fuel, the development of railway infrastructure for the transportation of raw materials and a number of other relevant topics, including the issue of providing citizens with coal in winter.
The meeting was attended by the heads of central government agencies, national companies Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) and QazaqGaz, as well as ERG companies.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan increased coal production to 113.9 million tons last year, which is 1.9 percent more compared to 2021 production levels.
