ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 12. In order to promote exports to Belarus, a preliminary list of 105 Kazakh non-commodity goods in such industries as metallurgy, food production, the chemical industry, and mechanical engineering has been determined, Trend reports.

This was stated during a bilateral meeting in Astana between the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliyev, and the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus, Alexey Bogdanov.

The parties positively assessed the growing trade turnover, which reached $1.1 billion in 2022. Positive dynamics have also developed over the six months of this year; the growth in trade turnover between the countries amounted to 1.5 percent ($456 million).

The parties also discussed key issues of bilateral relations and interaction in a multilateral format.

Kazakhstan’s total exports from January through June 2023 amounted to almost $38 billion, having decreased by 10.3 percent compared to the same period last year. The main reason for the decline in the gross indicator was the reduction in supplies abroad of the country’s key product, crude oil, by 17.4 percent.
