ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 14. In Kazakhstan, 54.9 million transactions worth 682.8 trillion tenge (about $1.468 trillion) were carried out through the Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT) and the Interbank Clearing System (ICS) from January through September 2023, Trend reports.
The data of the Central Bank of Kazakhstan shows that compared to the same period in 2022, the number of payments in these systems increased by 14.1 percent (by 6.8 million transactions), the amount of payments - by 25.6 percent (by 139 trillion tenge or about $299 billion).
During the period under review, 18.5 million transactions worth 674.8 trillion tenge (about $1.45 billion) were carried out through the IPS. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of payments increased by 17.6 percent (by 2.8 million transactions), the amount of payments - by 25.8 percent (by 138.4 trillion tenge or about $297 billion).
On average, 101,000 transactions worth 3.7 trillion tenge (about $7.95 billion) passed through this system per day, which is 17.6 percent more in number (by 14,500 transactions) and 25.8 percent (by 756 billion tenge or about $1.62 billion) in amount compared to the same period in 2022 percent.
From January through September 2023, 36.4 million transactions worth 8 trillion tenge (about $17.2 billion) were processed through the ICS. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of payments increased by 12.4 percent (by 4 million), the amount of payments increased by 9.7 percent (by 652.3 billion tenge).
