ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 23. The volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Sweden amounted to $365.8 million from January through September 2023, Trend reports.

Thus, exports of Kazakh goods to Sweden totaled $47.5 million during the assessment period, while imports from Sweden totaled $318.4 million.

Bilateral trade turnover was $325.9 million at the end of last year, 40% more than in 2021. In 2022, Sweden received $96.1 million in exports, while Kazakhstan received $229.8 million in imports.

In addition, in 2022, FDI in the amount of $51.5 million was attracted from Sweden to Kazakhstan, a total of over $600 million since 2005.

At the same time, more than 40 companies with Swedish capital are registered in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 reached a historically high level of $134.4 billion.

The trade surplus amounted to $34.3 billion, which is 82 percent better than in 2021 and four times more than in 2020.

Export volumes amounted to $84.4 billion. By 2021, foreign sales volumes had increased by 40 percent, and by 2020, they had increased by 78 percent.

Import volumes to Kazakhstan reached $50 billion for the first time, updating the 2013 record ($48.8 billion).
