Kyrgyz CEC announces preliminary results of election

The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan announced preliminary results of presidential election as of 11:30 PM, July 23, News Agency "24.kg" reported.

Kurmanbek Bakiev takes an overwhelming lead of 89.37 percent or 527,312 thousand votes. The only oppositional candidate Almazbek Atambaev is at the second place with 5.87 percent (34,652 thousand votes). The candidate is followed by Temir Sariev-1.64 percent (9.702 thousand votes). Jenishbek Nazaraliev takes the fourth place- 0.35 percent (2.47 votes). The only woman -candidate Toktaiym Umetalieva won just 0.33 percent (1,970 votes counted). The least number of votes gained Nurlan Motuev - 1.708 thousand or 0.29 percent.

The CEC continues to process data of the presidential election.

Data of 637 polling stations have been handled as of 8:00 AM July 24.
