Russia will give 1.6 million roubles worth of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan's physically handicapped children, an official in the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry for the Social Protection of the Population has told Itar-Tass.

Russia will give 1.6 million roubles worth of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan's physically handicapped children, an official in the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry for the Social Protection of the Population has told Itar-Tass.

The press service official said, "The Russian side will use this sum of money to buy modernized wheelchairs for physically handicapped children. The wheelchairs will be given to about 50 children in Kyrgyzstan".

The Ministry official said he referred to specially designed wheelchairs made up to international standards and with due account of individual recommendations and wishes of children they are intended for.

A handover ceremony is to be held here on Wednesday, with Maxim Topilin, Russian Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development, participating.
