In Kyrgyzstan the situation may become destabilized during and after the presidential elections, Kyrgyz public figure Rasul Umbetaliyev said at a press conference in Bishkek, 24.kg reported on Friday.

At the first glance the situation seems stable, but this is 'calmness before the storm'.

"In fact, there is no stability in the country," Umbetaliyev noted.

According to Umbetaliyev, gross violations are inevitable in Kyrgyzstan during the first presidential elections after the last revolution. There are too many reasons to instigate violations, including legal procedures on candidates' participation and imperfect preparations for elections in whole.

These are factors which might lead elections to failure.

Kyrgyzstan will hold presidential elections on October 30 and legitimate the state power after the coup and overthrow of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev last year.

Incumbent transitional president Roza Otunbayeva's tenure in office is expiring on Dec. 31, 2011.
