BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. Kyrgyzstan is going to launch several idle facilities, Prime-Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament), Trend reports via press service of the Kyrgyz government.

"We have moved from a policy of selling idle enterprises to relaunching them. State-owned enterprises should be considered as a driving force for the country's economy," Zhaparov said.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan returned Mailuu-Suu plant (producing electrical lamps), for the modernization of which 1 billion soms ($12.5 million) is needed, as well as the Kara-Balta repair plant, and the Danazyk state enterprise in Kara-Balta.

Earlier, it was reported that work is already underway on the construction of a textile factory on the site of the Kara-Balta Carpet Plant, which has not been working since 2013 due to wear and tear of textile equipment and lack of raw materials.
