BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund is going to allocate a loan of $1.2 million for the launch of the poultry farm for chicken egg production in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports with reference to the fund.

The farm was built by the local Zhar Ptica (Firebird) farming enterprise in Ysyk-Ata district in Chuy region (northern Kyrgyzstan).

“We built the facility ourselves, and asked the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund for support in acquiring equipment,” said Alexander Podlabukhov, founder of the enterprise.

He added that it is planned to launch the farm by August and to bring the number of laying hens at the enterprise to 132,000 and increase the number of laying hens within two years, producing 40 million eggs annually.

"The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund actively participates in import substitution programs. This is the third project for the production of chicken eggs that we are financing. It is very important for us that it becomes another tool for strengthening economic independence and food security of Kyrgyzstan," noted Artem Novikov, chairman of the fund’s board.

He added that the project will reduce Kyrgyzstan's dependence on imported chicken eggs by 7 percent.

Overall, the projects of Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund satisfy 19 percent of the population's demand for chicken eggs.
