Volume of non-resident deposits in Kyrgyzstan surpasses $600M

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. The total volume of non-resident deposits in the commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan reached 55.5 billion soms ($635.6 million) as of March 31, which is an increase of 11 percent compared to the end of December 2022, Trend reports via the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

In the reporting period, deposits of legal entities in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 129.9 billion soms ($1.4 billion), which is 3.5 percent less than in the end of 2022.

Meanwhile, growth was registered in the following deposits:

Government deposits increased by 36.4 percent and amounted to 31.7 billion soms ($363 million) as of March 31;

Deposits of other financial and credit organizations increased by 16.2 percent, their volume estimated at 2.4 billion soms ($27.4 million) as of March 31;

Non-resident deposits grew by 11.9 percent and totaled 55.5 billion soms ($635.6 million) as of March 31;

And deposits of individuals increased by 3.1 percent, reaching 133.5 billion soms ($1.5 billion) as of March 31.

According to the bank, a total volume of deposits in the commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 352.9 billion soms ($4 billion) as of March 31, which is 4.1 percent increase since the end of 2022.
