BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 26. Kyrgyzstan experienced a growth in crude oil production during the first half of 2023, Trend reports.
The data of the country’s State Statistical Committee showed that a total of 147,600 tons of crude oil were produced in Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2023, which is 6.3 percent more than in the corresponding period of 2022, when the production stood at 138,900 tons.
In June 2023, Kyrgyzstan produced 25,900 tons of crude oil, which is a 15.8 percent increase compared to June 2022 (22,500 tons).
Overall, the volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan during the first six months of 2023 amounted to 207 billion soms ($2.3 billion), which is 0.4 percent more than in the same period in 2022.
Last year, Kyrgyzstan's crude oil production totaled 295,100 tons, an increase of 7 percent compared to the 275,700 tons produced in 2021.
The majority of the oil, namely 283,300 tons, was produced in the Jalal-Abad region, located in the southwest of the country. This is an increase of 8 percent compared to 2021 (263,300 tons).
In the Batken region, the second largest oil-producing region, crude oil production amounted to 11,800 tons in 2022, slightly declining from the 12,100 tons produced in 2021.
