BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 15. Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with European countries from January through June 2023 increased 3.5 times year-on-year, Trend reports.
As per the data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the trade turnover's value in the first half of 2023 totaled $807.314 million, constituting 12 percent of Kyrgyzstan's overall trade volume. This is a 3.5-fold rise from the $227.056 million recorded in the same period in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan's imports from European nations amounted to $530.184 million, increasing 2.9 times compared to the corresponding months in 2022 ($182.600 million). The imports from Europe represented 9.8 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total imports.
The country's exports to Europe reached a total of $277.129 million, accounting for 21.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total exports. This value saw a 6.2-fold increase year-on-year ($44.455 million in January–June 2022).
Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, representing a 31 percent increase compared to the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).
Kyrgyzstan's exports totaled $1.306 billion, a 34.6 percent increase over the $970.5 million recorded from January through June 2022.
The country's imports reached $5.398 billion, marking a 30.3 percent increase compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 billion).
