EU Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel will visit Tajikistan on October 26-27, CA-News was told in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic on Tuesday.
As expected, Morel will discuss prospects of cooperation between the European Community and the Republic during his talks with the Tajik side.
The EU is the world's largest donor of Tajikistan. Assistance to the country focuses on social protection, health and private sector development, underpinned by public finance. Tajikistan also receives regional and thematic assistance in areas such as border management and drug control, education, water management, environment, migration, human rights and democracy, non-state actors and the development of small and medium enterprises.
European Union has provided assistance totaling over 500 million euros to Tajikistan since 1992.
