Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Presidents discuss regional problems

On April 8 the Presidnets of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov and Uzbekistan Islam Kerimov discussed bilateral co-operation and urgent regional questions, state news service Turkmen dovlet khabarlari (TDX) told Trend .

The sides highlighted necesserity of "further development (of relations), considering national priorities and new contemporary realities". In this context was expressed the importance of joint efforts to device new approaches to the solution of water problem, which is common for the countries of region, and also problem of Aral.

Berdimuhamedov invited his Uzbek counterpart to make an official visit to Turkmenistan. "The invitation was accepted with regard," the same source reported. The dates of visit will be coordinated via diplomatic chennels. 

The telephone conversation took place on the initiative of the Uzbek side.
