An agreement on increase of gas volumes transported to China can be signed during the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov's visit to China, scheduled for November.

The sides mean the gas, which is being trasported via the Turkmenistan-China pipeline.

As the Chinese Ambassador to Turkmenistan Xiao Qinghua said, during the visit the two countries' leaders will discuss the bilateral relations and draw up a plan on their development.

"I am confident that the upcoming visit will strengthen traditional friendship and will be a strong stimulus for the further development of bilateral relations," Qinghua said.

He stressed that Turkmenistan and China will support each other and seek new spheres of cooperation.

Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline with length of 1,833 kilometers passes through Turkmenistan and goes througt the territory of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan before reaching China. The estimated cost of the gas pipeline hits $6.5 billion.
