Turkmenistan keen to expand energy cooperation with Russia’s Tatneft

A high-level delegation of Turkmenistan led by Vice Premier Maksat Babayev visited Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan to seek for prospects of larger energy cooperation late this September.

The delegation that included heads of Turkmenneft, Turkmengas, Turkmenekologiya, as well representatives of Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries met with Tatneft Company Director General Nail Maganov and company’s top managers in Nizhnikamsk and Almetevsk, Tatneft reported in a statement.

During the two day visit the Turkmen delegation reviewed Tatneft’s experience with oil refinery, production of tires, power engineering, training of personnel, logistics, and application of innovative technologies.

They also visited oil refinery and petro-chemical plants TANEKO, which is operating with record indices of production depth, output of light oil products and loading capacities of initial refinery.

Major accent was put on innovative technologies of Tatneft. The Turkmen specialists got familiar with the activities of Geological-Technological Center and ARMITS program complex of the Almetevneft oil and gas production unit and Tatneft’s Engineering Center, also visited several production facilities of oil and gas productions units of Almetevneft and Yelkhovneft.
