The total volume of reserves of agricultural products of four main types (potatoes, onions, carrots, rice) in Uzbekistan amounted to 795,000 tons, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Justice in Uzbekistan.
A government decree "On additional measures to meet the needs of the population and social institutions with the main types of agricultural products in the winter-spring period 2020-2021" has been adopted.
The decree approved the forecast volumes of accumulation in the reserve of the main types of agricultural products for the winter-spring season of 2020-2021.
In order to accumulate reserves of these products, as an exception, direct contracting agreements will be concluded between product manufacturers, preparatory organizations, and institutions of the social sphere.
According to the decree, by January 1, 2021, schedules will be developed for the delivery of accumulated reserves of products to the domestic consumer market.
In order to prevent losses of entrepreneurs and rise in prices during the accumulation of products in the reserve, damage caused as a result of product deterioration due to a traffic accident or power outage will be covered by insurance.
In addition, counters and trade equipment in markets and shopping malls are provided for temporary use, as an exception, on a free basis for the sale of products accumulated in the reserve. No fee will be charged for the entry of trucks of these enterprises into the parking lots of the markets.
