The export of ready-made garments from Uzbekistan in 2020 amounted to $459.3 million, which is $136.4 million more than in 2019, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Russia takes the first place in the list of main ready-made garments exporters from Uzbekistan. The volume of Uzbek ready-made garments exported by Russia in 2020 in value terms amounted to $247.2 million. It is followed by Kyrgyzstan with exports worth $170.6 million.
Significantly fewer exports of Uzbek ready-made garments were registered in Kazakhstan in 2020 - $17.5 million.
At the same time, Ukraine exported Uzbek ready-made garments worth $4.9 million, Tajikistan - $4.8 million, Moldova - $2.6 million, Belarus - $2.3 million and Italy - $2 million.
In the structure of Uzbek regions that exported the largest volume of finished garments abroad in 2020 Andijan region takes the leading place with export worth $143.6 million. It is followed by Tashkent region and Tashkent city, 102.7 and 55.6 million respectively.
Namangan, Khorezm and Samarkand regions account for regions with the least volume of Uzbek ready-made garments exported abroad, $48.5 million, $17.8 million and $17.2 million.
