Uzbekistan eyes purchasing equipment from Dutch manufacturer

Uzbekistan plans to purchase advanced equipment from a Dutch Lantech company, manufacturer of machines for the production of packaging products from corrugated boxes, Trend reports referring to Embassies of Uzbekistan in Benelux countries.

With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Dutch Lantech and the Uzbek Europrint Kokand.

Lantech's production manager, Frank Weyers, said the company manufactures corrugated box packaging machines, automatic and semi-automatic stretch packaging machines, pallets and trays. In addition, it carries out activities in the field of service, in particular, advises manufacturers of packaging products on the installation, start-up and repair of equipment, training of specialists.

He also noted that today the company has no commercial partners in Uzbekistan and the Central Asian republics.

"Taking into account the potential and attractiveness of the Uzbek market for packaging products, Lantech is interested in establishing cooperation with Uzbekistan on the supply of high-tech equipment and the creation of a joint venture in this area," he said.

In turn, the Uzbek side expressed interest in purchasing advanced equipment from a Dutch company, creating a joint venture, sharing experience, training specialists in the Netherlands.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the provision of a commercial proposal for the supply of Dutch equipment to Uzbekistan, as well as a specific proposal from the Uzbek side on the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.

Based in the city of Nijmegen Lantech specializes in the development and assembly of special machines and equipment, the design and construction of factories for the production of packaging products and the transport of products. The company currently owns two production facilities in the Netherlands and the USA and has dealer offices in more than 20 countries around the world. The company supplies its products to more than 200 well-known manufacturers such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Total, Adidas, Zara, Puma, DHL and others.
