BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. German GIZ Corporation for International Cooperation is implementing the "Sustainability and value added in the cotton economy in Uzbekistan" project, junior advisor at GIZ Tashkent Joanna Moest told it at an online briefing organized by Uzbek Uztextileprom association, Trend reports.

According to a junior advisor, the project is being implemented from 2019 through 2024 together with the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture and the Uzbek Uztextileprom association.

Moest stated that the main goal of the project is to increase sustainability in the cotton supply chain and promote sustainable farming. The project covers three stages including export, processing and production.

"It will ensure social and environmental standards. Within the project we conducted training for the employees of the Uzbek textile industry," she said.
