BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. Uzbekistan has begun export of apricots of a new crop, Trend reports via EastFruit.

According to the administration of the country's Surkhandarya region, the SPN Humo Agro agricultural enterprise, whose plantations are located in the Termez district of the region, has already shipped several tens of tons of fresh apricots of early varieties of the new crop to foreign markets.

“Termez district is located in the south of Uzbekistan, thanks to the climate, vegetables and fruits ripen here much earlier than in other regions of the country. Therefore, it is in this region that our company has created plantations of early varieties of apricot on 58 hectares and peach plantations on 30 hectares. In the current season, we plan to harvest about 270-300 tons of apricots and export them,” the director of SPN Humo Agro, Nurbek Alikulov said.

According to preliminary data from the Uzbek Customs Committee, over the past ten days, Uzbekistan has exported over 200 tons of fresh apricots.
