BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. The Central Bank of Uzbekistan and Mastercard agreed to develop a joint roadmap to create an ecosystem of payments within the framework of the previously signed memorandum of understanding, Trend reports via Uzbek bank.
In this regard, a meeting was held at the Uzbek Central Bank with a delegation of the Mastercard international payment system.
On June 22 this year, the Central Bank signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Mastercard, which is aimed at developing bilateral cooperation in the field of payment systems, cybersecurity and improving financial literacy.
During the meeting, the importance of further digitalization of payments, and measures to ensure cybersecurity and improve the financial literacy of the population were noted.
The parties also noted the importance of switching to cashless payments, which will increase the transparency and security of payments made.
In addition, the parties expressed interest in holding joint educational events aimed at improving the skills of specialists in matters of cybersecurity and financial literacy.
