BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Uzbekistan produced 1.2 million tons of meat from January through June 2022, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
This figure increased by 2.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
During this period most of the meat was produced in the country’s Tashkent region in amount of 149,400 tons, followed by the Kashkadarya region – 142,600 tons and the Samarkand region – 142,000 tons.
From January through June 2022, Uzbekistan increased livestock production, in particular, 5.14 million tons of milk and 3.41 billion chicken eggs were produced.
In value terms, livestock production amounted to 72.6 trillion soums ($6.5 billion), which is two percent more than in the first half of 2021.
