BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. The number of ATMs in Uzbekistan amounted to 20,617, as of April 1, 2023, increasing by 54.7 percent year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU).
According to the CBU, Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank has the largest number of ATMs (2,589), followed by Agrobank (2,209) and Kapitalbank (2,047).
CBU notes that 32 banks are operating in Uzbekistan, Saderat bank Tashkent has only 1 ATM, while the following banks do not have ATMs at all: TBC Bank, Uzum Bank, and Anor Bank.
The number of ATMs operating in Uzbekistan as of the beginning of March 2023 totaled 20,596, which is an increase of 56.5 percent, compared to the figure for March 1, 2022 –13,156.
Uzbekistan constantly expands its financial sector. In particular, the number of transactions, ATMs, and terminals is increasing, as well as mobile applications are being introduced.
Back in January 2023, a source at Uzbekistan’s CBU told Trend that banks' mobile apps have been in great demand among Uzbek citizens over the past few years. Banks' mobile apps in Uzbekistan provide the following services: classic loans, savings, and various types of payments, online conversion, ordering and opening bank cards (plastic and virtual), international transfers, account, and wallet management, as well as card-to-card transfer operations, etc.
