TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 4. New freight train with cars sent from southern China to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Trend reports.
A freight train loaded with 261 vehicles departed from Liuzhou Automobile Logistics Base (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south of China) to Uzbekistan’s Tashkent on August 30 amid the opening of a new route as part of China-Central Asia rail freight traffic.
Meanwhile, Liuzhou is China's main auto parts production and export base for automobiles and components and the national automobile industry demonstration base, with an annual production capacity of more than 2.5 million vehicles.
In 2022, rail freight traffic made up 73.6 million tons, increasing by 2.2 percent compared to the figure for 2021, which was 72 million tons. Furthermore, during the first quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan’s freight traffic by all transport modes reached 293.6 million tons.
