TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 8. The number of tourists from Uzbekistan visiting Azerbaijan amounted to 4,318 in August 2023, which is 25 percent more compared to the same month in 2022 (3,465), Trend reports.
As per data provided by Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency, this figure also demonstrated a growth of 20 percent compared to the previous month of this year, when a total of 3,446 tourists from Uzbekistan visited Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, in August, Uzbekistan ranked 12th in the top 15 countries whose citizens visited Azerbaijan. The share of tourists from Uzbekistan amounted to 2.2 percent of the total figure.
According to the agency, among the Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan attracted the highest number of tourists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan disclosed that in 2022, the number of Uzbek visitors to Azerbaijan reached 26,309, surpassing the figure of 2021 by 526 percent.
